Toni has worked in a variety of ways within theatre. She runs workshops in schools, colleges and universities. She also directs and writes plays.
She studied drama at the Stanislavski Institute and later with Augusto Boal, Jonathan Kay, Sir Peter Hall and others. Toni uses an original amalgam of their disciplines combined with role-playing work used in psychotherapy. This method, as well as being used as a basis for theatre work, is used by many educational authorities to address issues of stress and aggression in the classroom. Since 2002 she has led courses on Drama and Storytelling for Norfolk Family Learning and the Learning Together Basic Skills Unit.
Toni was artistic director of Trinity Youth Theatre, Tunbridge Wells for seven years, artistic director of East Grinstead Youth Theatre for five years and director of end of course production for the MA students at East 15 Acting School.
For eight years Toni ran her own drama school, 'TADS', in Tunbridge Wells and has run a similar school in Norfolk.
Her playwriting is now broadening out from theatre to include plays for radio and TV.
